Hell's Kitchen for cupcakes

Last week, I came across this little article with pictures from 24 different NYC bakeries... and I was pretty amazed that I had only been to 8 of the 24 and I hadn't even heard of some of them. Time to get to work!!

So, Saturday, Jill came to town, we met up with LT and I twisted their arms until they agreed to walk over to Kyotofu with me. This is a Japanese bakery and is a place I had heard of but since it's close to Amy's Bread, I hadn't ever been. We had their famous Chocolate Souffle cupcakes, which came with a side of tofu ice cream (ginger & chocolate -- it tastes way better than it sounds) and a fruit compote. Delicious!! Am I right, Jill?

So that's one more that I can cross off the list.

mmmmm, I want! Maybe I will have to move out there to find all these nifty bakeries! I'll talk to Hal about it.

I’ve decided that I don’t necessarily want to live vicariously through you I just want to eat vicariously through you.

Too cruel, posting that photo of decadent deliciousness. You are my cupcake guru, I'll follow your instincts anywhere.

For my last dinner in Oh, Greg brought cupcakes from that little bakery near work. They were beyond delicious!!! No cake mix here.

That's so funny--I actually read about this place in New York magazine a few years ago, raving about the chocolate cupcake, so Shauna and I went, and I liked it, Shauna didn't.
