Each night in Acadia, we would look at the map and see what trails or monuments we wanted to see the next day. So to get ready for our last day, LT found something called Thunder Hole (and of course, I sang Thunder Road the whole time on the way there). When we got there, we realized it was on the path during our first hike the first day, but we hadn't spent any time there. Apparently, during high tide when the waves come in there is a loud noise. We waited with many other people to hear the "thunder" but we didn't hear anything.
After Thunder Hole, we went to see the Bass Harbor Head Lighthouse. We had read the night before, that there were two views-- one that was easy to get to, and one that was a little more difficult. We also read that a family in the Coast Guard lives in the home and it specifically said, "Don't knock on the doors or the windows because you might be interrupting dinner." We got a good laugh about that. Who would do that??
Thought this typo was quite funny

So pretty when you are there. I remember being envious of the people who live there, you have to remind yourself that winter can be very difficult. Still, if you are prepared, winter can be wonderful too. I think I saw the Thunder Hole when I was there with Debbie. The water rushes up into that hole and makes a loud noise. I think I have pictures of it. This was before digital, so it would be on film.
